Acute Partial Hospital Services

The Partial Hospital Program is a comprehensive, short-term outpatient program that provides support and treatment for adults facing emotional or mental difficulties, and who may have substance abuse issues.  The Partial Hospital Program offers coordinated, intensive treatment that is more concentrated than traditional outpatient care.  The structured format provides individual therapy, group therapy, stress management techniques, and medication consultation and treatment.

The goal of the Partial Hospital Program is to help participants understand their current problems and improve their coping skills.  Through individual and group therapies participants are encouraged to learn about their illness, practice practical skills to manage problematic behaviors, identify painful feelings that may inhibit progress and improve interpersonal functioning.

Partial Hospital Program participants return home in the evenings and maintain important links to their family and the community.  This allows practice of new skills that promote confidence and independence.  Treatment duration is usually between two and four weeks depending on individual progress.  The Partial Hospital Program is held Monday through Friday, transportation may be available.

Referrals may be made by individuals seeking treatment, physicians, therapists, or other health care professionals.
