Lenape Valley Foundation Internship/Practicum Opportunities
Lenape Valley Foundation offers opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience in their field of study through internship and practicum opportunities. Internships are available in several departments throughout the Organization.
The following is a description of specific internship opportunities at Lenape Valley Foundation as well as information on how to apply and other onboarding requirements.
Billing Department

Education Level:
o Must be currently enrolled in Billing and Coding Program from any accredited College or Technical School
Length of Assignment:
o The total number of hours required for the internship is determined by the school
o Schedule is based on student’s availability to complete required hours
Supervision:
o Students are supervised by Billing Director
o Interns have opportunity to observe Billing Staff as well as complete own projects
When to apply:
o Interns are accepted all year round
CRNP Students

Practicum opportunities will follow the requirements of the school
Outpatient Department
500 N. West Street Doylestown
Education Level:
o Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in Psychology, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
o Must have completed most of coursework before beginning internship, particularly, all techniques classes and ethics must be completed before starting
Length of Assignment :
o 15 hours per week on site
o Duration of assignment is at least 12 months or 3 semesters
Supervision :
o All interns receive 3 hours a week of supervision throughout the internship year, with a 4th hour during their first semester at LVF
o Group supervision is Mondays from 9-11 a.m., and is required for the full duration of the internship. Students in their first semester have an additional hour from 1-2 p.m.
o Each student receives an hour of individual supervision a week. LVF is able to provide 1:1 supervision with an LPC, LCSW, Licensed Psychologist, or LMFT Supervisor on site.
When to apply:
o Students are accepted each semester
o Openings for internships in the Outpatient Department are usually filled 4-6 months in advance of the internship start date
In the Outpatient Department, students have an opportunity to gain a broad range of experience, working with children, adolescents, and adults, offering individual, family, and group therapy for clients with a variety of diagnoses and presenting problems.
Partial Hospital

Education Level:
o Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and enrollment in a Master’s or Doctoral program in psychology or counseling
Length of Assignment :
o Two days per week for at least 15 hours
o Assignment/placement should be at least two semesters , a full calendar year is preferred
Supervision :
o Team/group supervision every morning in the form of a team meeting and one hour per week of individual supervision with a Ph.D. Licensed Psychologist
When to apply:
o Students are accepted in the Fall and Winter for the following academic year and in the Spring for Summer placement
o Accept both clinical and assessment practicum students
Psych Rehab – BARN (“Be About Recovery Now Center”)

Education Level:
o Undergraduate college level students or graduate students seeking an initial community clinical placement
Length of Assignment:
o Minimum of 15 hours per week – this can be schedule as two 7.5 hour days or one 7.5 hour day and two 3.25 hour days
o Internship are for one full semester
Supervision :
o Undergraduate interns receive one hour weekly with Program Director
o Graduate interns receive on site supervision by Program Director and can expect 1 hour of face-to-face supervision with a Ph.D. Licensed Psychologist
When to apply:
o Applications accepted NO LATER than 4 weeks before start of desired interning semester to allow for interview and orientation time

Onboarding Requirements
Clearances
If selected, you will be required to pass and pay for the cost of clearances that are required for your internship position. These clearances include but are not limited to the following;
PA State Criminal Background Check
FBI Clearance
Childline Clearance
Federal Exclusion Search on Federal websites including the Office of Inspector General, Excluded Parties List System, PA Medicheck List
NOTE: All offers are contingent upon passing required clearances based upon position. Clearances must be dated within 30 days of the internship start date and all original copies of clearances are stored in HR file for the duration of the internship and thereafter.
References
It is an LVF policy to check at least two professional references prior to internship commencement.
Credential Verification
Education:
Original Diploma from highest degree earned must be presented within 90 days of internship start date
Official transcript in a sealed envelope from College/University must be received within 90 days of internship start date
Internship Agreement and Liability Insurance
A signed, executed agreement between the School and LVF is required for all interns. Liability Insurance is also required for all interns. If the College/University does not cover students under School’s liability insurance, it is the student’s responsibility to obtain their own coverage.
Orientation
All interns will be required to attend Organizational Orientation, including HIPPA and Corporate Compliance trainings. Orientation is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month from 9 am – 12 pm at Lenape Valley Foundation.
