Acute Partial Hospital Program

The Acute Partial Hospital Program is a comprehensive, short-term, daily treatment program that provides therapeutic support for adults struggling with acute mental health challenges, and who may also have substance abuse concerns.

Our goal is to offer a safe and supportive environment in which an individual can regain their sense of self while continuing their healing process.

This intensive program provides a variety of evidence-based therapies, including but not limited to Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Therapy can also include:
• Psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring
• Group, individual, and family therapy
• Music, art, and movement therapy
• Peer support
• Daily living and life skills groups
• Case management

This program is best suited for individuals who:
• have an acute psychiatric and/or co-occurring need.
• are ready for discharge from an inpatient setting and in need of continued support, ongoing therapeutic intervention, and daily monitoring.
• At-risk for inpatient hospitalization and require treatment and supervision at a more intensive level than what is available in traditional outpatient settings.

The Acute Partial Hospital Program is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Individuals return home in the evenings to maintain important links to their family, friends, and the community. The average treatment duration is 2 to 4 weeks depending on an individual’s needs. Transportation is available, if needed, for residents of Bucks County at no cost. The program accepts Health Choices, Medical Assistance, and most major health insurance.
