Employee Spotlight: Renee Prive, Early Intervention Service Coordinator
What do you like most about working at LVF?
I really appreciate the company’s commitment to diversity and increased understanding of both our coworkers and the populations we serve. I love showing how we can learn about ourselves and others through celebration and connection. I think it’s so important in this time to protect the most vulnerable in whatever way possible.
What is your best memory at LVF?
Being a part of the creation of the first diversity committee/diversity day. Feeling like we are doing something tangible to start looking at how people can be kept divided, and starting to build community in a lateral way rather than relying on top down.
What brought you to LVF when you initially applied?
I had been working in Philadelphia and living in Bucks County. The commute had increased to a level that had become unmanageable.
What’s a “day in the life” like for you at LVF?
Every day is different, but it usually means starting out by checking emails to see if I need to contact a family. If I’m going to someone’s home later, I will make sure that everyone is healthy and let the team know ahead of time. If I need to go to someone’s home, I’m happy to take the drive down a gorgeous country mountainside to get there. If I’m not in someone’s home, I will be monitoring their services and making sure the services have been provided appropriately and making sure that any needed updates are in the system. The flexibility to create my schedule means that no two days are necessarily alike.
What is your favorite hobby or pastime activity outside of work?
Singing. I’ve sung professionally with some local opera companies in the Philadelphia area previously. I currently sing with some local choral groups in the Lehigh Valley, including Concord Chamber Singers and the Allentown Symphony Chorus. In May I will be performing with some fellow Concord Chamber Singers as well as a large group of other singers, at Carnegie Hall with John Rutter as he conducts his Requiem.
