Employee Spotlight: Na’Eema Robinson, Clinical Coordinator, The Lodge Crisis Residential Program

September 2024 Naeema Robinson Picture

What do you like most about working at LVF?

My absolute favorite thing about working at LVF is that everyone shares a common goal. Every person that I interact with wants the same thing as I do, and that is to serve as many people as possible in the community that we possibly can. I love that LVF is full of people who go over and beyond to be helpful, are open to new ideas and always ready to celebrate even the smallest wins.

How has your career grown since working at LVF?

I started at LVF in 2021 as an overnight crisis worker at St, Mary’s Medical Center. I then moved on to working as a Mental Health Professional, overnight, at The Lodge Crisis Residential before becoming the Clinical Coordinator at The Lodge. When I think about where I started at LVF, I am always so grateful that I am a part of a company that allows room for professional and personal growth.

What’s a “day in the life” like for you at LVF?

A typical “day in the life” for me at LVF starts off with me getting to The Lodge at 8am, dropping my bags and greeting the guests and staff on the unit. My role at The Lodge includes being a part of the referral process, so each day I am reaching out to individuals who are interested in The Lodge and providing them with more information about the program while explaining the admission process. Afte that, my day is very unpredictable as I am wherever I am needed at that moment. Rather it is supporting staff, being active on the unit all day, leading groups, supporting guests, completing Magellan reviews or communicating with the county to receive county funding for guests without insurance. I would say that is one of my favorite parts of my role as Clinical Coordinator, the ability to do a little of everything, every day.

What’s the best advice you can give someone who just started their career at LVF?

For someone starting their career at LVF I would tell them that the best thing they can be is moldable. Be open and willing to learn. I would tell them that their drive to help individuals in the community will be what takes them farther beyond what they can see.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime activity outside of work?

Outside of work, I really enjoy being around friends. My favorite pastime activity is reading! Once I find a good book, I will read it any chance I get.

What’s your secret talent?

My secret talent is I make homemade bread, including sourdough, white bread and all types of bagels. It can be time-consuming but being able to share them with my friends and family is very rewarding.
