Residential Services Unit

The Residential Services Unit (RSU) is a 20 bed non-secured residential program licensed by the Department of Public Welfare and operated by the Bucks County Youth Center. The program has been in operation since 1998 and provides services for both male and female youth who are involved in the criminal justice system. The objective of the RSU is to assist the youth in developing skills to manage their problematic behaviors and eliminate future involvement with the criminal justice system. The program does this by providing behavior management skills training, academic education and community involvement through volunteer activities.

Lenape Valley Foundation works collaboratively with the Youth Center to provide assessment and treatment for the residents in the RSU. Treatment is provided by staff from LVF’s Outpatient Department and includes medication management, assessment, individual, group and family therapy. LVF also provides evidence-based treatment such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Girls’ Circle Curriculum, as well as expressive arts therapy: psychodrama group therapy.
