Peer Support Program

Peer Support Services

Peer support services are provided by adults with successes in recovery from mental health challenges. They often have broad experience with the mental health service system. Peer support staff members are committed to sharing their personal stories in the interest of supporting and inspiring others through a recovery journey. Peer support services include the following:

  • Providing hope and moral support during difficult times
  • Facilitating information collection, problem-solving, and personal decision-making
  • Building connections to the community
  • Developing plans for wellness

Most peer support staff members have completed a ten day Pennsylvania State approved Certified Peer Specialist training program. They are required to complete continuing education courses throughout the year.

Peer support is available in programs throughout Lenape Valley Foundation (LVF) and is available to individuals aged 18 and older. Inquiries about eligibility for and connections to this service may be directed to Intake and Referral, or may be discussed with an LVF staff member currently providing services to you or your family member. For questions regarding the Independent Peer Support Program, please contact the program director at 267-893-5071.
