Lenape Valley Foundation is proud to be an active supporter and participant in the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force.

“Through advocacy, education, prevention, and postvention we will work to eliminate suicide,” is the mission of the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force. Its overarching goals are to reduce stigma, increase the number of individuals seeking help, support individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide and decrease suicides in our county.  The Task Force has accomplished much since 2013, including the addition of suicide prevention signs at Septa rail stations, the development of a First Responder Hotline, and the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) initiative designed to educate Bucks County employees and community members to recognize the signs of suicide.

The Task Force tri-chairs continue to bring together community members, county representatives and behavioral health agency staff to move forward with goals that have been established by each sub-committee.  Sub-committees focus on specific populations such as Adults, Older Adults, Young Adults, School-aged Youth, First Responders, Families and Professionals.

If you’re interested in joining the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force or one of the sub-committees, please contact Wendy Flanigan at 215-444-2882 or wflanigan@buckscounty.org.
