The Lodge at LVF

LVF is pleased to introduce you to The Lodge at Lenape Valley Foundation!

The Lodge is Bucks County's first and only crisis residential program. The Lodge is expected to open in the fall of 2018 and will serve all Bucks County residents. The Lodge will address a serious gap in the array of crisis services currently available to residents of Bucks County. Surrounding counties already have this important option in place!

LVF is constructing a new 16,000 square foot building in Bristol Borough on the campus of Lower Bucks Hospital (LBH). The new building, which is being built just yards away from the current Bristol office, will accommodate The Lodge as well as other LVF services. The new site was selected because it is adjacent to LBH, which has the largest inpatient psychiatric unit in Bucks County. In addition, Gaudenzia operates a 24/7 substance use treatment facility on the LBH campus. In combination with LVF Crisis Services, this provides a hub of comprehensive services for Bucks County residents with serious, acute behavioral health issues, which will facilitate the work of each of the separate organizations and response to the consumer’s need.

At this time, LVF crisis workers seeing persons in the midst of a behavioral health crisis who are at imminent risk, especially of suicide, have essentially two options. Either they must admit the person in crisis to an inpatient psychiatric hospital unit or they must return that person immediately to the community. The Lodge will provide a much needed third option. The Lodge is residential care in an open, home-like setting with 24/7 on-site staffing by health professionals. The Lodge will provide appropriate crisis intervention services with sufficient monitoring to assure the safety of the person admitted. The Lodge will focus on maintaining contact with family and other community resources during a person’s stay, which is expected to be from 3 – 10 days. Additionally, the residential care will include interface with other outpatient type services that will be needed upon discharge.

The cost of construction is anticipated to be approximately $6,500,000. LVF has launched a Capital Campaign with a goal of $2,000,000 in philanthropic dollars to build The Lodge.
